TOCICO

The Theory of Constraints International Certification Organisation (TOCICO) is a global not-for-profit organisation for TOC practitioners, consultants and academics to develop and provide certification standards, and facilitate the exchange of the latest developments in the TOC sphere.

TOCICO Exams

All candidates must start with the Fundamentals examination and can then proceed to the Application level examinations in the relevant subject areas: Thinking Process, Supply Chain Logistics, Project Management, Financial Management. The award of TOC Implementer for each subject area can then be achieved by the successful submission of a relevant Implementation Case Study.

Examination Preparation for TOC-ICO examinations

We are offering one day workshops to help prepare people for the TOCICO examinations. These will give an overview of the core subject matter and will offer guidance on how to approach the exams both beforehand and on the day.

Please contact Dr Ted Hutchin by email or telephone on +44 (0)1664 502860 if you wish to book a place on any of the workshops, would like further information or wish to discuss whether your current TOC knowledge is likely to be sufficient to pass the TOCICO examinations.

Fundamentals Exam Preparation Workshop

Ensuring you are ready to take the Fundamentals exams requires you to have invested some time and energy in both learning the concepts and how to use the various tools and techniques contained within the TOC body of knowledge. There are numerous ways in which this can be achieved. There are many books, web based training material and computer simulations that you can use to develop your knowledge and skills of application, there are courses from TOC training centres such as ours here in the UK and finally there is active participation in a real implementation.

So for the Fundamentals Exam Preparation Workshop, a one day session, we will be covering the following areas:

  1. An overview of the core knowledge to act as a reminder, a memory jog, to help you in your preparation
  2. How to revise for the exam
  3. How to prepare on the day
  4. How to approach the exam paper both immediately before and during the exam and what to do at the end
The workshop will take place at our training centre in Melton Mowbray, UK, and the fee is £99 (ex VAT).

Date: 30th September 2010

We can also offer you the opportunity to make this a two day workshop, where the second day will focus only on the core knowledge in order to help you with any questions you might have and enable you to take full advantage of having a TOC expert in the room to help you. The fee for this second day is also £99 (ex VAT).

Application Exam Preparation Workshops

In terms of preparation the same applies to the Application examinations as for the Fundamentals. Again it is essential to have taken time to study the relevant Application in some depth. The very minimum should be the two day workshops for the areas such as Operations, Project Management and Supply Chain, and the Thinking For Change programme for the Thinking Process exam. We would also recommend that you have read the key texts, been involved in an implementation within an organisation, and have spent time mastering the tools and techniques - after all you are seeking “expert” status! If you wish to discuss your current level of knowledge we would be more than happy to help.

So for helping people to prepare for the Application Exams we are going to focus on the following as these comprise the most popular examination topics:

  • Operations
  • Project Management
  • Thinking Processes

Each one-day Application Exam Preparation Workshop will cover the following areas:

Dates:

Operations: 2nd September 2010

Project Management: 16th September 2010

Thinking Processes: 23rd September 2010

We can also offer you the opportunity to turn these into two-day workshops, where the second day will focus only on the core knowledge in order to help you with any questions you might have and enable you to take full advantage of having a TOC expert in the room to help you. The fee for this second day is also £99 (ex VAT).
